There was gridlock on a stretch of I-95 early Monday evening after a crash that initially blocked the left lane.
The incident occurred on the southbound side between Center Street (Exit 19) in Westport and Sherwood Island (Exit 18).
There was stopped traffic at the scene of the crash and stop-and-go delays of up to a half hour to Black Rock Turnpike (Exit 24) in Fairfield until the lane reopened around 7 p.m.
